The Mental Health Association in North Carolina, Inc. maintains different mailing lists that are used in order to update individuals across the state on important events, announcements, and other happenings that are occurring within the Association.  Some of these lists are sent out on a routine basis, while others are sent out as information is received and released by the Mental Health Association in North Carolina.  Below, you will find a description of the different lists that are currently offered. You will also be able to list your Name and E-Mail Address and signup for the Newsletters that you are interested in receiving.

E-Advocate

The E-Advocate is a monthly E-Newsletter that is distributed at the first of each month.  It highlights important Mental Health Association in North Carolina news, upcoming events across the state, and what's new in mental health research and news across the nation.

Public Policy Newsletter

MHA/NC distributes periodic public policy updates to keep the community informed of happenings at the legislature regarding mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse issues.  These updates are sent more regularly when the Legislature is in session.  Also, in response to local, state, and national happenings, MHA/NC Executive Director John Tote often responds through perspective papers and advocacy letters.

Other News / Announcements

MHA/NC does its very best to keep you informed on the latest local, state, and national news pertaining to mental health as it unfolds.  These aslerts may be anything from a mental health special that is to premiere on television, to press released on special mental health observances, to tips on how to deal with a current crisis, such as the V.A. Tech shootings or Hurricane Katrina.
